Convert proportionally between a GPA scale and a percentage, with the limitations explained. Use the units and options beside each field. Results update as inputs change; reset returns to example inputs.
Conversion direction: GPA to proportional percentage / Percentage to proportional GPA
GPA maximum: 4-point / 5-point / 10-point
Input value: minimum 0, maximum 1002. Try a worked example
3.5 on a 4-point scale converts proportionally to 87.5%; this is not an official academic equivalence.
3. Understand the calculation
Proportional percentage = GPA ÷ scale × 100. Proportional GPA = percentage ÷ 100 × scale.
4. Read the assumptions
No universal GPA-to-percentage equivalence exists. Institutions may use nonlinear tables or specific rules. This tool does not assign an official letter grade.
5. Check and compare results
Match entered values to their labels and units. Review output labels alongside the assumptions, then change one input at a time. A currency selector changes display labels without converting amounts. Use the available save or copy actions and retain the input values so the estimate can be reproduced.
6. Fix an invalid input
Complete required fields and respect the listed bounds. Check date order, age relationships and mode-specific requirements where relevant; the error message identifies invalid combinations. Reset to example inputs to recover. A valid calculation applies to its stated model and does not verify a real-world outcome.
Try the workflow
Start with a small example and check the result before using your own data.
