Make a link, text or Wi-Fi QR code, choose PNG or SVG, and check the saved code before printing.

1. Choose the content people should receive

Select Website link, Plain text or Wi-Fi network. For a website, include http:// or https:// and check the destination yourself. This tool encodes the destination directly: it does not create an editable redirect or scan analytics. Changing the destination encoded in an already printed code requires generating and printing a new code.

2. Generate a repeatable example

Choose Website link, enter https://yourtoolsbuddy.com/, select 512 × 512 PNG and choose Generate QR code. The expected decoded value is the same homepage address. Text accepts up to 1,500 UTF-8 bytes; a character can occupy more than one byte. Shorter content produces a less dense code that is easier to reproduce at small sizes.

3. Choose a file and keep the clear border

Download QR code. PNG offers 256, 512 or 1,024 pixels; SVG is a vector that can scale in a layout. Keep the black modules, white background and four-module quiet zone. Avoid stretching, cropping the border or placing a logo over the code. Open the saved file and inspect it at the intended display size.

4. Test the actual printed or displayed result

Scan the saved code with a phone camera before distributing it, and test a printed sample at its intended size and viewing distance. Confirm the displayed address before opening it. Decoder regression checks recovered the homepage address and Unicode text from generated QR data; that does not establish that every camera or printing size will work.

5. Handle Wi-Fi details and errors

For Wi-Fi, enter the exact SSID and choose an open network or a WPA/WPA2 password. SSIDs accept 1–32 UTF-8 bytes; passwords accept 8–63 printable ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal characters. Enterprise authentication is unsupported. Anyone with the QR file can read the credentials. If validation fails, fix the field rather than shortening a real password; if scanning fails, use a larger, clearer code and check device support.

Try the workflow

Start with a small example and check the result before using your own data.
